Roof Progress, Day 2
The roofers finished almost the entire back side of the roof today, and I just had to take a few photos.
The color and texture of the new dimensional shingle (Owens Corning Oakridge Pro 40 in Brownwood) is so rich compared to the flat, bland, light gray of the old three tab shingle. We love it so far. You can’t see it in this photo, but the roofer did a great job on the new flashing, and the valleys as well. Previously, the valleys were open, meaning that the shingles did not actually cover the valleys and the flashing was exposed. The roofer recommended that we go for closed valleys this time, and they give the roof a very finished look.
He also painted all the flashing and the exhausts for the bathroom fans dark brown so they blend with the shingle. Overall it is such a nice clean finished look compared to the old roof.
