A step forward in geekdom
Today, in a fit of hunger-induced geekiness, I used Gizmo to order a calzone for lunch. You get $.25 free credit that you can use to call POTS lines when you sign up for a Gizmo account. So, equipped with my bluetooth headset and Gizmo, I succeeded in procuring lunch in a truly geeky manner, while remaining completely sedentary for even more of the day. Of course, I did have to go to the front door to actually get the calzone and pay the delivery guy.
All silliness aside, Gizmo seems to work very well, and I much prefer it to Skype for many reasons. There was a slight delay in calling the pizza shop, as if it took a few seconds to route my call out from the SIP network to the POTS network. After that, though it was flawless.
