It's how far to Detroit?
First off, congratulations to the Steelers!
I’ve always found it a bit silly, though, that we give the title “World Champions” to the winners of the American football Super Bowl. I mean, really, the scope of “World Champions” is way too narrow. Why not “Champions of the Universe”? Not only does no other country in the world actually play football on a significant scale, but probably no other civilization in the universe as well. So hey, what the heck.
During today’s awful local morning news roundup of last night’s Steelers victory, one local reporter, who had been in Detroit since before the teams had even arrived, remarked about some fans from somewhere in the continental USA that “these Steelers fans travelled half-way around the world to see their team win”. I’ll let you do the math.
