CO geyser

mob Tuesday 8:05 am 3/20/07

As I walked to the bus stop, which is the parking lot of a local mechanic, I saw this. I couldn’t figure out what it was until I got fairly close and realized that it was a geyser of carbon monoxide. It was coming from a fairly ingenious setup that allows the mechanics to keep a vehicle running inside while they work on it without them suffocating from the exhaust.

Unfortunately, the fumes are directed out of the garage bay and right into the area of the parking lot where people wait for the bus. So, we were at the mercy of the wind as we waited for the bus today. My life span is probably shorter by a few milliseconds a few seconds …
