Storm casualties, perspective

We were out during most of the storm last night. when we got home, we found that the wind had pulled the flagpole mount, flagpole, flag, and masonry anchors still attached, out of the brick wall to which it was mounted.

When we pulled into the driveway and saw the flagpole hanging down by the last anchor, we were certainly impressed and also bummed that we’d have to remount the thing this weekend.

Now I can’t help but feel a bit silly, since some people lost much than a few screws and masonry anchors.
